Running out the door now to hop on our bus for Cafayate...
Not actually sure what to expect, except for amazing scenery, and divine weather, plus we got no idea what we´re doing afterward, so this is a true improvisatory trip, on a tight-arse budget...
Got to stop spending on eating, and start thinking about tracking down some cans o´ Spam... Although I can´t find any! KM
I, fortunately, found some crisp red pears... hopefully they´ll last.
yesterday, we saw all of salta from a view like no other: we went to the top of mountain of a mole hill and had a coffee overlooking the valley. our hour+ walk down was insanely gorgeous. like karina said, there´s only more divine landscape to view.
we´ll be out of touch, hanging with our buddy Umberto (Beto). taking lots of photos for later posts and getting mad dirty.
here we go.

Cans o´ Spam, Can o´ Off!
So did we mention that there´s a Dengue epidemic? Well, I didn´t tell my mother that, around the same time I managed to omit that we´re probably going to end up hitch-hiking. I used to be vegetarian for heck´s sake!
So let´s see what happens...
Thoughts... Hhmm, thoughts...?
Maham and I are just way too enthusiastic, but it´s infectious so that´s way better than being mosquito infected!
I wish we had more time and that we didn´t have so many deadlines - ie. back in Salta Thursday 16/04 for our bus to Tucuman.
I want to be awed by nature´s beauty, and I think that if we´re open to it, we´re going to find it.
I´m thinking that despite the cans of Spam and insect repellent, life is kind-of sweet after all.
Lastly, thank gawd I´ve made it out of Buenos Aires, it´s funny, I´m not even nostalgic, or missing it, I´m just glad for the experience, but ultimately happy to be OUT!
And where else but in north-west Argentina???

Salta - Adventures in Finding Cafayate
So we´ve decided we´re going camping in Cafayate, a small town just south of Salta. Down the route exists beautiful, colored rock formations all named things like Garganta del Diablo (Throat of the Devil), or El Anfiteatro (Amphitheater).
We´re going to be living off spam and bottled water, hitch-hiking ruta 40 (route 40) through Argentinean desert (Circuito Sur), and all the while freaking out about the $500 pesos we each have to make us through two weeks of crazy travel.
love,
maham
